Zvents Adds to Executive Leadership Team
San Mateo, CA, April 1, 2009 - Zvents, the leading producer of entertainment guides online, today announced the addition of two key executives to its leadership team.
Alisa Weiner will now serve as Senior Vice President Marketing & Product. Alisa brings more than 20 years experience in strategic management and marketing to the Zvents team, with specific expertise in consumer marketing, ecommerce and vertical search. Prior to joining Zvents, Alisa was Vice President and GM at Shopping.com (an eBay company) overseeing strategy and business operations for Shopping.com, DealTime and Epinions. As a Vice President and founding employee at Hotwire she helped launch and grow the discount travel leader that was acquired by IAC/Expedia in 2003. Prior to Hotwire, Alisa worked at Levi Strauss & Co. where she held a variety of roles in marketing and product management.
Derek Hanson will lead all revenue efforts as the new Vice President Sales, including national, local, and channel advertising sales. Derek brings more than 18 years experience in local and national media sales to the Zvents team, with specific expertise in content monetization, local search and strategic planning. Previously, Derek held executive sales leadership roles at Time Warner, Charter Communications, and Comcast. He has built sales organizations from the ground up and created unique environments within the corporate media culture, where individuals with talent and initiative were developed at every level.
