Zvents Powers mtvU Campus Daily Guides
mtvU Joins the Zvents Network for Local Search and Discovery Experience
New York, NY and San Mateo, CA (August 26, 2008) – Zvents, the local search and advertising network, today announced it will power mtvU’s Campus Daily Guides with Zvents’ local search and discovery experience, creating one-stop resources for everything to do on and off campus. Locating events, restaurants, bars, movies, and more, mtvU’s Campus Daily Guides, powered by Zvents’ search technology, make it easy for students to discover what is going on and where to go, while connecting local and national merchants with college consumers.
Zvents has integrated the Zvents Media Platform with mtvU’s “Campus Daily Guides” to provide details about millions of important college and recreational events, local promotions, sports, concerts, and performers, specific to the location of each university campus. Students will be able to rate and review items listed on the site, and the highly customized local search platform features free and paid event and promotion listings for local merchants to reach active, young consumers. Targeted banner advertising also enables advertisers to easily reach college audiences.
“mtvU’s Campus Daily Guides marry mtvU’s programming with all of the resources students need within the college bubble,” said Stephen Friedman, GM of mtvU. “With access to millions of local listings and resources, we’re simplifying students’ experience and providing national, regional and local advertisers a powerful connection to this hard to reach audience.”
“We’re excited that mtvU has selected Zvents to power the Campus Daily Guides local search platform,” said Ethan Stock, Zvents CEO and founder. “As part of the Zvents network, mtvU’s Campus Daily Guides will ultimately reach millions of college-aged students with a local search experience that makes it easy for anyone to find what they’re looking for, and also enable local merchants to market their businesses to this important demographic.”
The Zvents network actively aggregates local content allowing mtvU Campus Daily Guide users to conduct comprehensive local “what, when, and where” searches for millions of events, time-based promotions, venues, performers, and other local activities using natural search queries. Users can search and find relevant local events or venues, including dates and time, ticket prices, descriptions, venue information, ratings, and mapped locations, as well as contribute content by adding their own reviews, ratings, comments, and photos. Users and local performers can also add and promote their own events and activities. Content is provided by Zvents’ more than 250 media partners, through web crawlers, and user-generated content. Merchants can submit both free and paid listings into the network, providing them with a highly targeted and relevant marketing opportunity toward local consumers.
