Zvents Teams With The Denver Post to Introduce “PoliticsWest” for the 2008 Democratic National Convention
2008 Democratic Convention Makes History with Local Search Navigation, Creating Hometown Accessibility and Awareness of Everything To Do at the Convention
San Mateo, CA (August 25, 2008) - Zvents and The Denver Post have partnered to launch PoliticsWest, a quick and useful resource for anyone looking for interesting ways to get involved actively with local political events, starting with the Democratic National Convention (August 25 – 28, 2008), in Denver, CO.
Zvents, the local search and advertising network, has powered DenverPost.com’s local events platform and search experience since October 2006, and PoliticsWest is a new extension of the partnership. PoliticsWest users can search for both official and unofficial DNC events taking place around Denver, ranging from activist rallies, parties, and speeches, to political art displays and comedy shows. Users who want to publicize their political events can also add their events.
“With the Democratic National Convention taking place here in Denver, we wanted to build the ultimate calendar and mapping widget for delegates, media, visitors, and the general community,” said Mark Cardwell, Managing Editor of Digital Media at The Denver Post. “Powered by Zvents, PoliticsWest enables users to discover all kinds of politically-related events, including Barack Obama’s Democratic Convention Acceptance Speech, Rock To Win concert, and Volunteer for the Big Tent during the Democratic National Convention.”
The Zvents Media Platform enables users to conduct local “what, when, where” searches for events and other local activities using natural language search queries. PoliticsWest users can review details of an event or venue, including date and time, ticket prices, promotions, descriptions, venue information. The platform also features a unique widget with a mapped location, displaying where each and every political event (Official DNC, Unofficial DNC, Activism, Fun Events, and Delegation Hotels) takes place.
