Zvents names Paul O'Brien Director of Marketing
Hewlett-Packard Interactive Marketing Professional brings deep experience in search, social media, and results-oriented marketing.
San Mateo, CA - June 21, 2007 -- Zvents, the local search engine for things to do, today announced that Paul O'Brien has joined as Marketing Director. O'Brien, a former HP Interactive marketer, will lead Zvents' go-to-market strategy and planning, search and internet integration, corporate and brand marketing, and corporate communications.

Prior to joining Zvents, O'Brien was head of interactive marketing for Hewlett-Packard's direct-to-consumer Home and Home Office Store. During his tenure with HP, O'Brien was responsible for paid search marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), search strategy, performance-based display advertising, comparison shopping catalog integration, and strategic affiliate direction.
Prior to HP, O'Brien managed Advertising Solutions at Yahoo! where he directed marketing campaigns for many of Yahoo!'s key advertisers. He oversaw sales programs operations and the development of portfolio marketing techniques for the technology industry in Small Business, Yahoo! Shopping, Search, early instances of Yahoo! Tech, the Yahoo! Homepage, and other properties. Previously, he was a consultant for various web portals designing and developing Web sites, e-commerce, and marketing strategies.
